Welcome to The Listening Line, a space for exhausted voices to be heard.
This website acts as a resource for the The Listening Line which can be reached on

The Listening Line is a space to talk confidentially without worrying about what you have said to who. It's a space to let off steam and express your feelings, thoughts and emotions. A space to know it's okay, to know that feelings matter and that we are all experiencing new feelings and emotions all the time. It's a space to share and support by simply saying ‘this helped me’, and knowing that you have been heard.
Leaving a message. Take a big deep breath. The Listening Line invites you to talk and say what's on your mind. Unload your thoughts, feelings and concerns knowing that you have been heard. It's a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space of support. You will be invited to leave a message that will be heard, but will not reach a live recipient to talk to.
Methods for coping. We all have different levels of need for our mental health and wellbeing, and we all have our own ways of coping. Through the phoneline you can listen to other people's methods of coping and contribute your own to support others in need.
Calls to The Listening Line 0121 75 11 929 are charged at a local network rate.

The Listening Line has been created by Amelia Hawk, an artist based in Birmingham, UK, exploring connections between art practice and counselling strategies by making new spaces for conversations that aren’t afraid, and are happily political.
This project has been supported by Arts Council England, and tried and tested by numerous generous individuals.
